biography

A closeup of Dane!Dane got his start in showbiz under duress when, in his first year of school, he was forced to audition for the lead role in the Nativity play. He got the role which included his debut as a singer. The decade that followed saw Dane in a string of performances with in school and with several independent drama companies.

Having fallen in love with the music of Michael Jackson, at the tender age of three, Dane's primary passion was always for making music. In high school he decided to abandon drama and invest his efforts in developing his voice and began vocal training. He formed vocal trio Invincible with whom he had some local success.

The band's activities were curtailed when the tragic death of Dane's father in late 2000 caused him to take a break from pursuing his career.

The collective lyric-writing talents of the group created a musical tour-de-force. Invincible's blend of Urban, R&B and Hip Hop attracted offers from labels and managers and the group had a string of successful shows including a support slot for Big Brovaz in front of an audience of thousands at Telford Ice Arena.

Dane then formed a writing partnership with life-long friend "Little" Paul Babbington which immediately bore fruit in the shape of the song "How Do I Let You Know" which, unbeknownst to him, Dane's mother sent with an application to the Galaxy Record's South Coast Star Search. The song was among those chosen to be on the finalist's record and was produced by Red Rhythm. "How Do I Let You Know" won the best song category of the talent competition.

Since then, Dane has been working with Galaxy Records on an album and his debut video.
